Meet James: The Wroughton Dog Rambler

About me

Hi, I’m James—though I’m often known as Jim or Jimmy. My wife and I have had the privilege of calling Wroughton our home since 2015, and since then have been blessed with two amazing children.

The inspiration for The Wroughton Dog Rambler grew from a passion for the outdoors (starting a long time ago with my school’s rambling club) and a love for animals. Having grown up in a household with cats and dogs (Golden Retrievers) and even volunteering at an elephant sanctuary in Sri Lanka, I founded this business to provide an exceptional dog walking services across Swindon and the surrounding north Wiltshire countryside.

After years behind a desk analysing spreadsheets for a private healthcare company, I finally traded the office for the great outdoors to launch my dream: a premier dog walking business for the Swindon area. What began as a personal passion for rambling has evolved into a new adventure for my family and a dedicated service for local pet owners.

I’ve combined my professional reliability with a lifelong love for animals to offer high-quality dog walking services across Wroughton and Swindon. This career shift allows me to lead engaging group dog walks where I am available to take your beloved pet on a countryside adventure. My goal is to bring a unique, heartfelt, and structured approach to every walk, ensuring your dog returns home happy and tired.

I specialise in group dog walks that go beyond the local park; I am available to take your beloved pet on a countryside adventure through the beautiful landscapes I’ve explored since moving to Wroughton. Whether your dog is a 'rambler' or a 'scrambler,' I’m here to provide the exercise and fresh air they need!

Having grown up with dogs I understand how integral they are to the family and the love that you have for them, therefore I am fully aware of the trust that you have given me to ensure your furry friend is kept safe and happy whilst in my care.

I am fully insured (with Protectivity), DBS checked and hold a  Canine First Aid Level 2 (VTQ) Certificate.
